This sulfuric acid in turn supplies the sulfate ion which is taken up by the plant. The acidifying effect of sulfur oxidation in the soil lowers the soil pH and allows uptake of soil nutrients and particularly iron.<\/p>\n<p>We recommend injection of this material directly into the soil as the speed of oxidation to sulfuric acid depends mainly on the extent of contact between sulfur and the soil.
